A Psalm From Ein Gedi
Justin Boothby | March 2010
“The sounds of a rushing water fall bespeaks the precious oasis of Ein Gedi. Some are mighty, some are small, but this is more. A single stream, a single God, a single man. The mountainous winds blow, the many birds chirp and people rejoice before this creation of our God. Just as these massive rocks surround me, so too my God surrounds and endures. Yet as rocks decay and as water moves my God stands firm as a strong foundation. He is not shaken by events because he is the one who shakes. He does not move like the reeds by the sea because He causes them to move. Yet among His people He cried. Vulnerability is not an emotion of the gods, but the God of gods became so for love. A love so unexplainable. Like the sights of a desert oasis my God is love when there is hurt. My God is secure when there is uncertainty. My God is Peace among the Chaos. Everlasting. Was, is and is to come. A name with such credibility holds little logic. However, my God will endure, my God will stand.“
